JUDGING
- On qualifying nights, participants will be the judges of the competition. Each participant will sing one song only. The order as to who sings first through closing will be determined by chance through a drawing. Each participant will be given a judging ballot wherein each participant will list his or her choice for the top five singer/performances of the night, in order of preference. Contestants advance by appearing on the most cards, regardless of where they are ranked. Note: In the qualifying rounds, the order of preference (1st through 5th) only matters in the event of a tie for the fifth qualifying spot. See tiebreaker method in paragraph 10. Judges are urged to make notations over the course of the qualifying event. Participants may not vote for themselves. If a participant votes for himself, he disqualifies the entire ballot. A disqualified ballot automatically disqualifies the competitor.
- Participants must remain inside observing and listening during all performances so as to fairly judge the event. Participants are not to discuss the judging and evaluations with anyone until after all scoring ballots has been collected. Appropriate breaks will be provided. However failure to remain inside and attentive so as to fairly observe all competitors will result in disqualification, in sole discretion of Tom Terrific and/or Clancy's. And yes, it does happen.
- Scoring during the semifinals and finals will be allotted as follows:
First: 5 points
Second: 4 points
Third: 3 points
Fourth: 2 points
